Jokanayam Development Association (JONDA) was incorporated in October of 2008 from a resolution made by five friends brainstorming in an informal meeting on how best they could play an important role in shaping the lives of the less fortunate members of the society in Kenya particularly children.

JONDA is a tax exempt organization under the 501(c)3 of IRC and is a charitable organization registered in the state of Tennessee. Our office is located in Memphis Tennessee. (Go to “contact us” for more details)

What motivated our initiative?

High level of poverty resulting to suffering of innocent children was the driving force in the birth of JONDA. Per World Bank 2005 estimates poverty stands at 46% of the total estimated population of 39Million people. Poverty in Kenya is fueled by a diversity of factors: unemployment, child labor, HIV/AIDS epidemic, and a failing education system. (among other delicacies).
